Your Country Needs YOU

What do you really value about living in Britain? Think about it…

That you can walk down any street, anywhere, and not have to carry any form of identification? That you regard the police as on "your side" and you wouldn’t think twice about asking a policeman for directions (would you think the same if he were armed)? That, should you fall foul of the law, you are innocent until proven guilty? That the police have to bring you promptly before an open court to justify holding you (your right of habeas corpus)? That, ultimately, you have the right of a trial before a jury of your peers to prove your innocence? That the law is impartial and not political? That our security is safe in the hands our own armed forces? That you have the right to vote for whom you please at elections? That the people who make our laws are elected by us to look after our interests and if we don’t like what they do we can throw them out and choose a new lot when elections come around again?

Think about it…

There will be many more things which make you feel relaxed and secure about living in Britain, protected by our representative democracy.

Many of these things are now under threat of permanent extinction.

This threat comes in the form of a new treaty with the European Union – the Treaty of Nice. You may have heard of it, it is going through Parliament now. The Treaty of Nice, among other things, gives away our right to veto laws which may be imposed upon us by the European Union, against our best interests. This will be the last nail in the coffin of our loss of sovereignty and requires resistance by every person in the land who values our traditional liberties.

That means you.

The EU has other ideas too. Our Anglo-Saxon legal system is totally at odds with the continental system, so gradually our way of doing things is being changed to the continental way. You may have heard of some of these plans under Corpus Juris and Eurojust. These plans put the EU state in control, not the British people.

We have never given our Government a mandate to give away our constitution and our laws. We must assert our freedom to govern ourselves, to retain our traditional liberties and freedoms.

In the UK, the people are sovereign. The Monarch is the embodiment of that sovereignty. Parliament is elected and answers to the people. Here, the state answers to us - not we to the state, as in Europe.

This unusual assault on our nation requires an unusual response, we have to fight paper with paper, lots of it.

As part of the process of signing up for this Treaty of Nice, it must be given the Royal Assent; The Queen must ratify the Act of Parliament. You therefore have a means of making your opinion known – write a letter to Her Majesty The Queen asking her to withhold her Assent. A petition to The Queen is being presented by the Lords under Clause 61 of Magna Carta asking her to do just that. Your letter will support this. A letter writing campaign to The Queen has been started and you should have the sample letter with this document.

To be effective there must be a vast number of letters to Her Majesty. This will only happen if you do your part in sending your own letter and then distributing more letters for others to send.

To be part of this campaign:

  1. Make at least 10 copies of both pages, TODAY.
  2. Then, date your own letter, top right.
  3. Sign it at the bottom.
  4. Write your name clearly underneath your signature.
  5. Write your address under your name (you want a reply).
  6. Address an envelope to Her Majesty as on the letter.
  7. Put the letter in the envelope.
  8. Don’t forget to put a STAMP on it.
  9. Post it TODAY!

Get everyone in your house to do the same.

To be effective you must also distribute at least 10 copies (distribute both pages), drop them through random letter boxes in your area. If you are infirm get someone else to do it for you. You should also mail some copies to friends and relatives in other parts of the country so the whole country gets a chance to join in. DO IT TODAY.

Don’t leave it for someone else to do – you are someone else’s someone else! Demand the freedom to govern ourselves.
